THE COLOUR EDIT: EXOTIC ORANGE

Tiger Orange - One of my favourite colours from this season’s trends.
This warm, vibrant colour works perfectly on it’s own as a statement piece or combine it with yellow and fiery red to create a cozy feel with a touch of exoticism. Gorgeous Autumn Colours!

HOW TO STYLE YOUR BED IN 5 EASY STEPS

Photography by Carley Summers

Sheets

The best place to start is with your sheets. You don’t have to match your sheets exactly to everything else but a neutral/soft colour will give your bed the perfect base without competing with your Key pieces.

Pillowcases / Shams

This is where the fun starts. No you don't have to go matchy matchy or stick to the pillowcases you got as part of a set. Have a bit of fun! There are lots of ways to mix up your look like using different pillowcases with different sized prints but keep a common colour running through them so they don't look all over the place. Or go super simple with the pillowcases and have all the fun when you gets to adding the cushions!

Duvet or Quilt

I personally love a patterned quilt but plain will work too as long as it ties in with the colour of at least one or two of your pillowcases. Colour colour colour! It’s the most important thing when making everything look curated and not messy.

Cushions

Anything from one to four to however many you like will work to be honest. This is a great place to mix different sizes as well as colors and prints. Try a long lumbar on it’s own or with 3 or 4 cushions behind it with a combo of block colors, prints and textures.

A Throw

For a perfect finish drape a textured throw across the end of the bed Voila!! So if you’re ready to create a gorgeous bed, be sure to visit us at Chandan Whittle or shop the look above.

THE COLOUR EDIT: HELLO MELLOW YELLOW

This years autumnal shades are a mixture of Creamy Yellows and Dark Cheddar. Combine these shades with Nutty Browns and Fiery Oranges to create a gorgeous warm cozy look.

BOLD BOTANICALS: BRINGING THE OUTDOORS IN

Botanical prints and hues are as popular as ever and this year, the bolder the better. Rich greens, gold, and burnt yellow hues exude happiness and confidence and our Ana Jana Collection brings that cheerful leafy oasis right into your home.

The collection is Inspired by the lively energy of India
and it’s imperfect beauty.

and it’s imperfect beauty.

“While most find India to be overwhelming, I embrace the chaos. Its imperfections and beauty beg be discovered and inspire creativity. The more time I spent in the country, I quickly learned to adapt to the madness where life is lived with more fluidity. Take a deep breath and embrace the Ana Jana collection.”

BEHIND THE SCENES: SCREEN PRINTING THE KEYA LUMBAR

Did you know there aren't any factory machines involved in the making of any of our cushions? Take our Keya Lumbar for example. The base fabric is hand weaved and then the design is hand screen printed onto it. Screen printing is a distinct, versatile technique that uses mesh to artfully layer ink onto fabric, one color at a time and this gorgeous piece has a lot fo colours!

All of our screen-printed pieces are produced by our artisan partners in South India who are reviving a once-thriving industry and providing sustainable employment for their community. Their local artisans have deep roots that inspire a wealth of diverse design.

Here’s how the screens are made:

STEP 1 - Outer  Frame (made of Iron pipe) is made according to size of the design.

STEP 2 - Nylon mesh will be fixed on this Frame

STEP 3 - Mesh should be thoroughly dried on the Frame

STEP 4 - Now the Screen is ready. Total screens will be prepared according to design/ colors

STEP 5 - Tech pack design will be converted into Film format

STEP 6 - Film will be taken into Dark room and exposed on the  Screen.

STEP 7 - Now the Final Screen is ready for printing.

STEP 8 - Each colour is printed separately
